Research Project Coordinator Needed to Support Groundbreaking Autism Investigation
Do you enjoy working with people AND working with data? If so, Prometheus Research, LLC, is looking to expand its Data Management Team with a Research Project Coordinator. This high profile position assists renowned biomedical researchers throughout the process of obtaining phenotype data and DNA from our client's rapidly growing research repository. The work supports an unprecedented multi-center collaboration -- the Simons Simplex Collection -- to build a publicly-available source of research-quality genetic and phenotypic data on families impacted by simplex idiopathic autism.
Areas of Responsibility
- Serve as project liaison to key stakeholders
- Coordinate, review, and process researchers' requests for repository access
- Support researchers (e.g., geneticists and clinicians seeking phenotype data and/or DNA) through the various stages of the request process
- Oversee and maintain work queues at each stage of request process
- Provide administrative and reporting support to the Research Director
Minimum Qualifications
- B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree
- 2 to 3 years relevant work experience
- Outstanding oral and written English communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Ability to succinctly communicate complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences
- A self-starter, able to work independently on multiple projects, and to balance priorities
- Able to quickly learn (and to help define) new tools and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate-level work in social or biological sciences, or in statistics, or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with handling large research data sets
- Degree in a scientific or computer-related field, or work-experience that demonstrates a high level of competence with Information Technology
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel
- Proficiency with R, SAS, or other statistical environments
This is a full-time position at our office in New Haven, Connecticut, conveniently located on the New Haven town green. Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience, and includes benefits.
