Seeking Web UI Developer to Support Leading Biomedical Informatics Application

Prometheus Research is a rapidly growing software and consulting house whose technology is transforming the way biomedical researchers manage and share their data. We need your help to make this technology even better by increasing its usability, intuitiveness, and attractiveness (roughly in that order).

As a member of the Research Informatics division, you will be responsible for utilizing common tools and practices to improve the Prometheus user experience in a collaborative, agile environment with client-facing colleagues. Typical tasks will include:

Working hand-in-hand with business analysts to construct custom UI solutions that support complex biomedical and clinical research activities (screens, wizards, workflows, reports, etc.)

Collaborating with ...

• R&D developers to ensure interoperability with back-end components
• QA staff to ensure proper testability of your work products

Assisting with ...

• human factors analysis
• workflow analysis
• wireframing and storyboarding

The results of your work will be production-quality Web 2.0 screens that allow our clients to interact with and manipulate administrative, logistical, and research data.

Minimum Qualifications

• Expert proficiency with coding HTML, CSS & JS for multi-browser use
• 3-5 years relevant web-development experience (non-manager)
• Outstanding oral and written English communication skills
• Ability to succinctly communicate complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences
• A self-starter, able to work independently or with minimal supervision on multiple projects, and to balance priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Adaptability to change and a willingness to seek increased responsibilities
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Desired Qualifications (in order of importance)

• High or expert proficiency with jQuery and/or Jinja
• Demonstrable experience with Human Factors Analysis as it pertains to software UIs
• Experience with Selenium

This is a full-time salaried position at our office in New Haven, Connecticut, conveniently located near Yale, shopping, and public transportation. Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience, and includes benefits. We are flexible about working schedules, and are open to limited telecommuting options (you will be required to be onsite at least two days per-week.
